About Us

Repairing, Remodeling and Restoring Our Schools

Founded in 2001 by the late U.S. Senator Daniel K. Inouye, Hawaii 3R’s has completed more than 500 projects at schools across the state, resulting in a savings to the state of more than $40 million in repair and maintenance costs. Hawaii 3R’s leverages “sweat equity” provided by volunteer help with cash donations to address the repair and maintenance backlog facing Hawaii’s public schools.

Pacific Resource Partnership provides volunteer administrative support to Hawaii 3R’s.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

ABOUT US >

Since its inception in 2001, Hawaii 3R’s has helped to refresh nearly every public school across the state. We are a nonprofit committed to helping to Repairing, Remodeling and Restoring our schools, hence Hawaii 3R’s.

We work in partnership with the Hawaii State Department of Education (HiDOE) to identify schools in need of some upkeep that are on the HiDOE’s backlog list of school projects. And most of our funding comes from private donations from individuals and organizations that want to help improve our public schools.

We’ve completed nearly 500 projects at a savings of $40 million to the state.

Pacific Resource Partnership provides voluntarily administrative support to Hawaii 3R’s to ensure Hawaii’s public schools’ infrastructure continue to get the attention they need.
